Danville Braves Release 2019 Roster

The Danville Braves kick off their 2019 season Tuesday night at home against the Princeton Rays.

The Braves, rookie-affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, is comprised mostly of newly-drafted, newly-signed players, along with a handful of returning players from last summer. The Braves are also managed by 2013 Danville Brave Anthony Nuñez in his first year as a professional manager.

Danville’s 2019 roster features players from five different countries and eleven U.S. players. 17 players were acquired in the MLB Draft, 13 were signed as non-draft free agents and three were signed as undrafted free agents. The full roster is made up of 17 pitchers, four catchers, seven infielders and five outfielders.

Six players will however be returning to Danville and they are Zach DanielsMichael MatejaZach SeipelRay SodermanMitch Stallings and Nick Vizcaino.

Vizcaino told media at the Danville Braves Fan Fest that he hopes to help pass down to the new crop of players.

“I just try to pass on what I learned from last year because I went through the whole season here, so I know how pretty much everything goes,” he said. A season of which he slashed .184/.258/.272 with two homers and 14 RBI in 37 games played.

The 2006 and 2009 Appalachian League champs Danville look to go after another crown in 2019.
